"O ye people! Adore your Guardian-Lord Who created you and those who came before you that ye may have the chance to learn righteousness, Who has made the earth your couch and the heaven your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and brought forth therewith fruits for your sustenance; then set not up rivals unto Allah when ye know (the truth)."

Allah Almighty created the human beigns to worship Him Alone and to worship no other besides Him.
Qur'an :"And I (Allah) created not the jinns and the human except they should worship Me (Alone)" (Translation of the meaning, 51:56).
Sunna: "Mankind's duty to Allah is to worship Him Alone, and not to associate partners to Him in anything". (Bukhari - Muslim)
Worship is a comprehensive term which includes all speech and actions that are loved by Allah Almighty.
Qur'an: "Say (O Muhammad ): Verily, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of mankind, jinns, and all that exists". (Translation of the meaning, 6:162)
Sunna: "Allah says: The most beloved things with which My slave comes near to me, is the observance of what I have enjoined upon him." (Bukhari)
Acceptable acts of worship are those that Allah Almighty and His Messenger ( have commanded.
Qur'an: "O You who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad) and render not vain your deeds." (Translation of the meaning, 47:33)
Sunna: "Whoever does any deed (in religion) which our matter is not in accordance with, it is rejected." (Muslim)
Worship of Allah Almighty should be based on fear of His punishment (i.e. Hell Fire) and hope for His reward (i.e. Paradise).
Qur'an: "... And invoke Him with fear and hope..." (Translation of the meaning, 7:56)
Sunna: "I beseech Allah to grant me Paradise, and I seek refuge in Him from Hell-fire." (Abu Dawud)
